Swenson.McCaffrey Residence : Port Townsend Washington
Construction was completed in 2009 on this green, contemporary home in Port Townsend, Washington. The client’s objectives were to create a simple and efficient design, while incorporating numerous sustainable design features for energy efficiency, healthy indoor air quality, and a reduction in material waste during construction. The design of this 2400 square foot home includes hydronic in-floor heating in the concrete slab floors, expansive, south-facing wood/clad windows, an open floor plan for the main living spaces, and super insulated walls and roofs. The clients provided sweat-equity by fabricating and installing the architectural designed cabinetry and built-ins.
