Stucky.Dorris Residence : Ashland Oregon
The owners of this historic Ashland home wanted to retain the authentic 1890 Queen Anne exterior, while updating the interior with simple modern lines, bold contemporary colors, and organic materials. Working closely with the architect, interior designer and builders, the clients pursued a “green” approach to their remodel. The project included recovered industrial beams and wood trim harvested from sustainable forests, formaldehyde-free wheat board frames for the cabinetry and energy efficient Marvin replacement windows. Recycled glass tile, non-toxic paint and natural fiber carpets put on the finishing touches. The result demonstrates that it's easy being green and beautiful at the same time.
